All you can eat of the Philippines — kakanin, BBQ, kare-kare, durian float, and the warm pull of coming home
A taste of home
The name is not metaphor. Probinsya — the province — is exactly what this Davao City institution has been selling for over twenty years: the warm, abundant, unhurried table of the Filipino countryside, reconstructed in a buffet hall behind Victoria Plaza and open from seven in the morning until the last diner goes home satisfied.
What makes it special
The egg station — where staff cook your eggs to order. The puto bumbong station. The durian float at dessert. And the kakanin spread that reminds every Davaoeño of the table they grew up at.
From the condiment bowls carved from wood to the staff uniforms, the provincial theme is total. Even the music is intentional — Filipino folk songs and OPM drifting through a room that is genuinely spacious, not the cramped buffet experience the price point might suggest. The restaurant is family-friendly by design and inclusive by policy: PWD discounts applied correctly, vegetarian tables maintained, children's favorites given permanent placement on the spread.
The buffet runs across all three meals of the day. Breakfast, which opens at 7 AM, draws call center teams, joggers from the nearby Victoria Plaza fun runs, and overnight travelers who want something more honest than a hotel spread. Lunch and dinner expand the selection considerably — Filipino classics like kare-kare, humba, lechon kawali, crispy pata, adobo, and pancit — alongside the live BBQ station that replenishes continuously.
The Durian Float is Davao's local celebrity dessert and Probinsya's signature closer. Visitors from outside Mindanao often try it for the first time here, and the staff understand this: they do not rush the moment.

"This is by far my favourite buffet breakfast in Davao City. So many food to choose from! The place wasn't that busy when we got in, but it did eventually get busy throughout our stay. It's always a must visit whenever I go back home to Davao."John E. · Google review · Probinsya Buffet · Davao City
Twenty years of Davao devotion
Eating at this resto feels like home. As a PWD I get my discount correctly unlike other buffets. Their food is fresh and delicious. It really feels like home here. I love it — more power Probinsya, long live. Keep serving Davaoeños!
The Probinsya that I used to know still holds the same service and food as how it was more than 20 years ago. I am glad they offer more kakanin this time — that was a huge hit. My all-time favorite was the durian float. It was my first time trying and I highly recommend it.
This was recommended by locals and they did not disappoint! The breakfast buffet was a hit — the selection reminded me of childhood flavors and cuisines. Truly a memorable visit. I always keep coming back for more.
If your target are native delicacies, this is the restaurant to go for — very delicious at reasonable prices and at the best value for money. The ambiance is indeed "probinsyano" — it lets you feel that you're in the province, but in reality in a highly urbanized city.
The breakfast buffet was okay. Classic Filipino breakfast — chorizo, tocino, bangus, sinangag and eggs! Not only that but they also have an egg station and puto bumbong station! Staff are friendly. Hopefully they will check customers every now and then. The experience was great.
We had buffet lunch for only ₱580 including drinks. If you love Filipino food, this is the restaurant to visit. The BBQ section keeps cooking and replenishing. Drinks included iced tea, juice and coffee. For the price it is absolutely worth it.
I'm thrilled to share that Probinsya has reopened, and the restaurant continues to offer the same exceptional food and service that it has been known for over 20 years. Location: conveniently situated at the back of the Victoria Plaza compound. Food: mouth-watering Filipino dishes. The added variety of kakanin and the Durian Float are must-tries.
Pricing: with lunch and dinner at ₱580 and breakfast at ₱475 per head, the extensive buffet selection offers great value. Service: exceptionally friendly and attentive staff, who even offer customized egg cooking at the breakfast buffet. Atmosphere: a warm, welcoming environment that enhances the dining experience. Vegetarian Options: a dedicated vegetable-only table, making it inclusive for all.
Twenty years is the metric that matters here. The Philippine restaurant industry is unforgiving and Davao's dining landscape has changed enormously since Probinsya first opened. The fact that returning visitors from two decades ago find the same food and the same spirit intact is not luck — it is the result of a concept so clear and an execution so consistent that it requires no reinvention. The province doesn't need updating. That's the whole point.
The province, reconstructed
Native bamboo · thatched roof counter · lantern lamps
Chafing dishes · replenished constantly · newest branch
The ambiance at Probinsya is total commitment to theme — but not the kind that feels like a tourist attraction. Everything here is chosen because it is genuinely provincial: the wooden condiment bowls, the staff uniforms, the Filipino music that plays at a comfortable volume throughout the day. Guests who grew up in the province and now live in Davao City describe it as nostalgic. Visitors from Manila describe it as revelatory.
The space is genuinely large — not cramped in the way buffet restaurants often become when full. The vegetable-only table is maintained separately, a thoughtful gesture that makes the buffet inclusive without demanding that everyone eat the same thing. The pet-inclusive policy adds to the community feeling on weekend mornings when families arrive in full assembly.
The breakfast crowd is particular: call center workers coming off overnight shifts, joggers from the Victoria Plaza fun run circuit, business travelers who would rather eat here than at their hotel. The staff know them by preference — the egg station exists precisely because regulars have been requesting their eggs a specific way for years, and the restaurant listened.
By lunch, the full spread opens and the room shifts to families and groups. The BBQ station brings the aroma. The kakanin corner draws the curious. The durian float station divides the room between the initiated and the terrified. Everyone leaves full. Most of them leave planning a return.
